Happy New Year to all of my readers! Welcome to the year 2020! With the start of a new decade, it is time to look forward, change perspectives, and set new goals. With the new year comes opportunities to make new contacts and explore new opportunities for teaching English as a second language. For me this means moving from the university classroom to the corporate boardroom to facilitate language learning for business executives and other professionals. It means more individualized language learning with more focus on communication/presentation skills and listening, and more focus on preparation for standardized English language proficiency tests. Goodbye IELTS- Hello Linguaskills, TOEIC, Bright testing, and several more. In fact, I've never seen so many different ways to test someone's language abilities than what I've encountered with my recent relocation to the City of Lights! With the CPF, or the Compte Personnel de Formation (personal training account) the French government creates an account for every employee providing continued education and training opportunities. What a wonderful initiative! Employees are encouraged throughout their career - up to retirement - to pursue new certifications and learn new skills. For many, this means taking language courses,

and for many - their language of choice is English! Consequently, I have the pleasure to meet dynamic professionals in industries I have never thought about before. As the year progresses, I am dedicated to providing opportunities for these learners to improve their English, increase their test scores, and branch out to develop my presence in the English learning community!
